Participate in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson
In Maricopa County this year, 18 people have drowned . . . the second leading cause of unintended injury related death for children ages 1 to 14 years old. Teaching children how to swim is an important step to prevent drowning.
To assist with this effort, the city of Scottsdale’s Aquatics program is inviting citizens to participate in the “World’s Largest Swimming Lesson” It will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 14, at the Chaparral Aquatic Facility, 5401 N. Hayden Road.
To register for this free event, go online to http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/Topics/Recreation, click on “Recreation Classes,” then type in class code 90011. You can also register at any Scottsdale aquatic center. For a list of locations, visit http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/sports/aquatics.
